This thread discusses the Content article: Link found between immune system and high plasma lipid levels

This is an interesting article and seems physiologically plausible. Inflammation of the blood vessels, and subsequent damage, leads to defects in the vasculature wall.

Hepatic T cells involved with lipid metabolism?

That is is surprising to me. I am curious if only hepatic T cells can influence lipid metabolsim, do they express unique genes compared to other T cell types?

I imagine it would be true for all T-cells of a certain subtype, the environmental factors determining whether the regulation would actually occur.

Since the vast majority of cholesterol is metabolized in the liver, it would make sense that hepatic T cells would be the subset most likely impacted by cholesterol metabolism.

Since inflammation is also involved with several other diseases such as cancer and arthritis, I wonder if this engineered protein could also lower the prevalence of those diseases?
