Medication errors have become more documented in the past few years which has raised awareness of the problem. I know that certain hospitals have starting used more automated sytems such as robots to ensure correct medication is dispensed in the hospital. My understanding is that the automated systems are working without too many problems.
It makes sense that perioperative procedures would be subject to the same human error and perhaps even a higher rate of error than regular inpatient care since communication between several departments occurs.
Do you think that more automated delivery systems are feasible for perioperative procedures?
