I agree with you Jeff, listening to the patient is the fundamental skill. I have been told that a good history is vital and can be much more valuable than the results of several lab tests.
I am a medical student and was wondering do you have any specific tips on history taking from your experience?

I also like the ideas discussed in this article. The key point for me is to listen to what a patient is saying about a problem so I can understand what is their major concern. I think addressing their concerns fully will be helpful in assuring patience compliance.
