This study makes sense. Any surgery is a risk, particularly a surgical procedures done close in time.

I disagree, certain infections need to be addressed before sepsis occurs. However, surgeries could be identified that present a larger risk of sepsis and on-demand surgery may make sense for low risk surgeries.
