This represents another example of how gene variation can influence clinical outcomes. I wonder if a therapy could be devised to better treat patients based on the gene variant present?

How about behavioral modification? Perhaps that would be the most effective approach with this type of disease. While medications may be effective with certain variants, maybe a behavioral approach would make sense for forms that are restant to medication.
