Having done a significant amount of cancer research, the results do not surprise me. Cancer is a genetic disease influenced by cellular environment. I wonder what about the stroma makes it pre-disposed to genomic instability?

It is possible that the stroma has some initial mutations which predispose it to genomic instability. Or maybe it has the same mutations as the surrounding cells.
