This thread discusses the Content article: A healthcare plan for the Obama campaign?

I like the proposal outlined. The key points for me were having access to care and health literacy. Many of the disparities of outcome that are seen in different groups are due to differences in access as well in differences in delivery of that care.

Regarding health literacy, I agree it is a key factor in having successful health outcomes.

It relates to having open lines of communication where all sides understand each other's perspective.

The plan outlined is well stated, but would it help get somebody elected?

Would certain parts have to be emphasized to get the most notice of the voting public and wouldn't that cause inequities? I think a more important concern is to make sure all groups are equally represented at the voting booth.

The plan outlined in the article is good but it does not address how to best educate patients so that they comply with suggestions. People who are struggling with other life issues do not make health a top priority.
