Since a common cause of breast cancer is hormonally based, it is interesting that loss of the fetus does not impact on the risk of developing breast cancer.
The fetus/placenta does make hormonal contributions during the pregnancy but I am not sure of the time frame during the pregnancy and level of contribution.

I read the article and it was interesting that it stated the hormone influence may help to do final differention of breast cell.
I imagine it has to do with the final stages of differentiation of the breast cell before lactation can occur.
What about pregnancy helps with the final differentiation? Increased levels of certain hormones?
If it is increased levels of hormones, perhaps women who abort could have hormone replacement therapy?
