This article emphasizes a key point about modern medicine. Preventative medicine (including public health measures) is the best medicine. While that seems obvious to medical professionals, why is there not more of an effort to increase preventative measures?

We spend significant money and resources to treat disease, are we spending enough on prevention?

No, I don't think we are spending enough resources on prevention for a very simple reason.

There is more money for various healthcare entities to treat rather than prevent disease.
