Definition of Ancitabine Hydrochloride
A derivative of cytarabine (ara-C). Although ancitabine's mechanism of action is unclear, it may inhibit dna polymerase via competitive inhibition of deoxycytidine triphosphatase, resulting in inhibition of dna replication -- this agent may also incorporate into DNA and RNA. (NCI04)
